The problem is that we think our national team is far better than it actually is, probably due to the strength of the Premier League which is largely comprised of foreign players .There are two high quality outfield players in the England squad: Rice and Kane, both of whom are two-footed and good in the air. The rest are one-dimensional and cannot break out of the few skills they have. I would add that Pickford is a top-quality keeper but he can do little to get some urgency and coordination in the players in front of him.
